Disaster Relief
the issue
Natural disasters happen all over the globe... buildings collapse, houses are destroyed, food becomes scarce, water sources may become contaminated, people are forced to relocate and lives are lost...
In 2011, there were 29,782 deaths linked to 302 major disaster events including 19,846 deaths in the March tsunami/earthquake in Japan

From 2000-2010, 400 disasters accounted for 98,000 deaths and 226,000 million people were affected each year. In total,1,077,683 people lost their lives while 2.4 billion were affected by disasters during the decade

Individuals living in developing countries are the most at risk populations to suffer disaster fatalities

At Agape Love we are committed to mobilizing disaster relief teams to provided immediate relief for affected individuals and communities. We believe in addressing food, water, shelter and medical needs immediately and ultimately help stricken communities and refugees on the path toward sustainable recovery.

After immediate needs have been meet we believe in assisting communities in adapting disaster risk reduction strategies to lessen future vulnerability to natural hazards (e.g. implement stronger building codes, utilize a warning system, develop evacuation protocols, involve local professionals {contractors, builders, architects} to train in pre-disaster planning and risk reduction, work with governments to develop programs targeted at different socio-economical groups to help them prepare and recover from disasters).
